Okay, so the internet has not been working chez moi for nearly 24 hours possibly due to the fact that there was a freaking crazy thunderstorm last night, and it just started to work again, but Le Nanny State is not currently allowing me to access Facebook so I hope you guys get this. My European mobile/data plan has been out of money for a while too, and I couldn't top it up because I haven't had internet. And the people in the résidence just tell me "je ne peux pas dire exactement quand l'internet va marcher encore" and that pisses me off, because that translates to "je vais manger du gâteau et boire un coca pendant que vous souffrez." People have no sense of urgency here, and while I love France, I think they could possibly stand to work more. It's really weird that a lot of them seem to think that Americans are lazy. No. We work our butts off.
Oh wait. I just got to Facebook via a proxy. Okay. Well now I can at least post this so y'all know I'm alive. Now I'm going to go top up my mobile account so at least next time I'll be able to post from my phone.
Yay!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are developing a profound understanding of the French.
I am looking forward to further posts. It is the first thing I look for in the morning.
Thanks, Hopie.
